Any home health aides???

Patient wants me to make her son's bed he's grown 🤔🤔🤔😑 how do I say no without being rude??? These people don't understand I'm not here to take care of the family. I'm only here to take care of one person 🙄🙄🙄

I would state exactly that. You're there for the patient, not the family. I'm a nurse in the ICU and family members all the time would treat me like a gopher. "Can you get me a Sprite?" No, but I can go get the defibrillator and zap your ass.

I agree, simply state that is not part of your job description and you are there to care for the patient and the patient only.

And I just told her it's not my job and she was like how she does all the cooking and all the cooking so I can't just make a simple bed...🤔🤔🤔 first of all I can't cook what she eats because I'm not from her country but as my patient I cut all the onions and tomatoes put oil if I have to etc..... And she can barely walk so I do all the cleaning and everything ugh I'm so fed up smh they want me to just do all the labor work like I'm some maid or something. And I told her my it's against my agency rules to have to be clean up after her family unless I want to and she gave me an attitude

Totally agree, I had a similar situation with someone I looked after, we were expected to make her 13 year old daughters pack lunch for school and to iron the patients parents clothes 🙄they were perfectly capable of doing it themselves. We were meant to be there for the patient not everyone else 😕 don't get me wrong I will help out anyone but there's a difference between helping out extra now and again and being expected to act like someone's servant all the time
