Cold/sick while pregnant?

I've had the worst cold for the past week and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I've been loading up on my prenatal and emergenc-c. I've also been trying to sleep as much as possible but every time I lay down it results in a coughing fit. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to deal or beat a cold without medicine?

I have a cold too. I broke down and took robitussin last night. I really can't afford time off right now. It helped quite a bit. That and Vicks and TONS of water. Today seems to be going better

Sleep slightly upright and talk to your doc about OTC meds. Mine was ok with robitussin/mucinex, but only the original strength, not maximum. The mucinex kept my chest congestion from developing too badly, and sleeping partially upright kept my nose from clogging. Lasted a week, but on the mend now! Just keep drinking lots of fluids and watch out for acid reflux, which I realized the last day was what was making me nauseous, not the cold/flu.

I was in Florida for a weekend and came back to NY and got hit with a terrible cold. My husband as well. The doctor said no thera-flu so I've been sticking to tea and liquids. I'm afraid to take any OTC.

I was poorly for 3 weeks with a chest infection and really sore sinuses, i didnt want to take anything so i just waited it out and was inhaling vicks from time to time but when i got into the 4th week i rang the doctor and he gave me antibiotics because i had started coughing up blood from inflammation on my chest. Being poorly and pregnant sucks because your already worn out, try rest but if it gets bad i would go see your GP :)
