I've been with my boyfriend over a year and I have two kids from a previous marriage, 6 and 10. I want to marry this man. He's great with my kids and he's almost 40 and I'm 33. We decided to go ahead and try to have one since I don't want to be any older trying to conceive. Been about 5 months trying and nothing. It's heartbreaking every month and he doesn't seem to understand. He doesn't ask if I got my period or doesn't really discuss anything except baby names occasionally if I bring it up. I decided because I think he has commitment issues to stop trying. He has never been married or has any children. When I told him I'm done trying until he commits more, as in proposing or marriage. He just says "I understand".  Makes me want to cringe, I really want to keep trying but I guess it's not that important to him.
