RESEARCH. It's called nature! The point is to create as much of a natural effect on something as unnatural as a c-section! In a vaginal birth, the "vagina juice" gives off bacteria essential for building your baby's immune system. This is such an ignorant post you've created. Grow up!

If I had a c section, yes! The whole thing about birth type and hit bacteria, mixed with type of feeding is directly correlates with future temperament. I absolutely would. It is natural and would have happened if you have both vaginally in its own.

I just read an article about that. It's one thing to have a vaginal birth and the baby is exposed to it, but it's dangerous to do that with a C section baby especially if vaginal delivery was NOT an option (not emergency c sections). All these new age fads are getting crazy... They're messing with moms minds that want only the best for their little ones!

It's called seeding.... Apparently it exposes your baby to a wider variety of good bacteria that you baby does not get exposed too during a C Section.... It's a "new and modern" thing. It's supposed to help your babies immune system and skin

I don't see anything wrong with it if done for the right reasons. Babies miss out on the vaginal bacteria that's benificial to them during the first bit of their lives when delivered by c section. I think it's gross and a wierd excuse when people do it because it's a "fad" or to promote bonding. If natural birth was a very very important thing to someone who couldn't have it, then I believe it's a decent choice to make and could be beneficial.

Some people will understand this because of extensive research. Others will not because they simply read this post and already formed an opinion. The point is to expose your baby to bacteria that helps build the immune system that comes from the vaginal secretions they are normally exposed to during a routine vaginal birth. In the event that a baby is delivered through c-section they miss out on those secretions. With that being said, a doctor does in fact know better than to expose a baby to STD positive vaginal secretions and those babies who's mothers are STD positive do not go through the vaginal secretion swabbing after a c-section. Obviously.
