First obgyn appt - what to expect?

Hi everyone, my first appt is at 10 weeks. What should I expect at the appointment?

I think every first appointment is different. At my first I was 7w3d. I had a breast exam, Pap smear, blood work, height, weight, blood pressure, and got a packet of information. I go back at 12 weeks. I did not have an ultrasound done. My midwife said it wasn't necessary since I had a normal last period and I knew exactly when my last period was. Some people will get a dating scan done.

I had my first appointment at what I thought was 8 weeks, ended up measuring 7 w 3 d. I had a pelvic exam and an u/s. My friend warned me that the u/s that early was vaginal and I'm glad she had told me ahead of time so I knew what to expect ?

I got to see the little one (just a blob at that point- but a beautiful blob nonetheless) and hear the heartbeat, which was so special! I hope you also get to! GL

Answer

Urine and bloodwork. Possibly an ultrasound to confirm and give you a date. Medical history questions. That's really all they did with me.
