Public breastfeeding?

Question

How comfortable are you breastfeeding out in public? I BF and formula but when I'm out I just feel nervous about breast feeding. At the moment I don't have a cover I'll be getting one soon but still nervous about it. My soon is 9 weeks old and every time we go out he wants to nurse, I think it's for comfort. How do you feel? Do you just not care? Every time I see women doing it I just don't understand why I care.

Don't care were I am I pull my boob put and feed my baby.  Some stare some look away and some walk up and yell me how proud of me they are that I'm so young and  only exclusively breast feeding my baby.  I do not cover her as I do not feel it's appropriate. She is a human and is hungry.

My sister bought me an infinity scarf for Christmas and it's perfect for nursing, I just put it on like a sash and slide baby in. Then he is covered and supported at the same time. Do what you need to do so that your baby is happy... Don't worry about what others think...

I try to pump and bottle feed if we are going to be in public but that is mostly because the first time I publicly FB, this weirdo guy was staring in a creepy way. The second time I got the dirtiest looks ever from women! Like "go to hell and burn" looks and now I just feel like it isn't worth it.

We went on an airplane and for the first time I breastfed in public at the airport. It was awkward the first time. I tried using a cover but my son gets way to squirmy under it because he can't see me so I went without a cover after trying for a while. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! No one stared or gave me dirty looks. You just have to not think about everyone else and just remind yourself that your just feeding your baby and it's totally natural!

I don't cover and my personal opinion is that anyone who thinks I should cover or go to the restroom needs to do the same for their own meals before they tell me to do it. But if you are uncomfortable doing it without a cover then by all means cover up. I live in the south where everyone is still old fashioned and judgemental about everything and I have not had a single negative experience yet. So if you're worried about people's reactions, I'm sure you'll be just fine and probably get more positive than negative. Breastfeeding is just feeding your child. Adults feed themselves in public so you shouldn't feel nervous or ashamed to do the same for your child.

I use the double shirt method!  No cover needed and nothing shows if you're nervous about feeling exposed

I wear a camo underneath my shirt so I roll up my shirt and don't have my stomach all exposed. And I use a cover with the halo at the top so I can look down and see baby. With the double shirt there's not a whole lot showing but for the sake of modesty I do use the cover. The first few weeks I nursed out in public where awkward just because I didn't have it all figured out how to do it and cover myself properly but at 14 weeks old we are pros now :)

Honestly, the first time is the hardest. After that, it gets easier and easier. I've been feeding my son in public for 11weeks now (literally everyday we go out) ans I have had more people come up and tell me what a wonderful job I'm doing or thanking me for helping make breastfeeding in public normal. I feed without a cover most of the time, but you also literally can't see anything. I do either the two shirt system or wear a breastfeeding friendly sweater I got from latchedmama.com which is shown in the picture. Do what makes you feel comfortable.

I use a cover called udder cover. Works great has a stiff part at the top that allows you to look down and see baby. But I also feel so self conscious. I have to feed him in public lots of places but feel like I get very judgy looks. I could just be paranoid. But I will keep doing it because that's what's best for my son.

I breastfeed in public and don't cover. I don't think it's fair to bubby, way too hot and uncomfortable for them.
