How would you pronounce Kara?

This is a name my husband and I are seriously considering for our daughter. We want to get a sense of how people would naturally pronounce it. We're worried about choosing a name that people would always mispronounce.

My first born is Karalynn pronounced Carolyn but we call her Kara (care-ah).  We were gong to pronounce it car-ah but people were having w hard time with it and we didn't want to sound pretentious correcting them all the time.  I think both are beautiful.

I would look at it and not know how to pronounce it and I would ask. Most names have a clear rule that I'd assume I'm supposed to follow but the difference between the twp ways to say the first A is not implied in the spelling.
