Does anyone have identical twins in the same sac

Question

We went for our ultrasound and found out we were having twins. They share a placenta are are in the same sac with no membrane. We haven't seen a high risk Dr yet still waiting on the appointment. How many other mom's out there are in the same boat please let me know how your experience is going or Did go.

I have mo/di girls on the way. I was told, that a membrane cannot be seen until you are at least 14w. That's when we saw ours (finally!). It is something that is terribly hard to see (even now at 33w!). They usually share a placenta and most likely a membrane will show up. Looking at your ultrasound, you aren't far enough along to be able to see one. My advice from another Mono mom: DO NOT GOOGLE. Just don't. Wait to find that membrane and then the doctors will inform you of everything you need to know. Congrats!

So far so good. I didn't see my membrane until 9 weeks and even then it was really thin. One of the  babies cord is attached to the side of the placebo instead of the middle but no complications so far everybody is growing just fine. Like she said don't google it will totally mess with you and don't let that genetic testing get to you either. I'm due in July identical girls. I'm 19 weeks and they move like crazy in there!! I am having mo/di twins and at my 7 week ultrasound they weren't sure they saw a membrane. Ten days later the membrane showed up - it could still be too early to see to confirm mo/mo twins. Make sure to ask if they see 2 yolk sacs, if this is the case chances are they are mo/di. All the best to you I know it can be an anxious couple of weeks waiting for a follow up but try and rest, drink lots of water and think positive thoughts :)

The membrane is not the only thing that differentiates between mo/mo and mo/di twins.  See how there's only one egg yolk in the original posters ultrasound? That is how you know they are going to share an Amnion. Two yolks in one sac is mo/di. One yolk in one sack means mo/mo.

I was told at 8 and 12 weeks that we were having mo/mo twins so our doctor arranged another scan to have a thorough check. Luckily we were able to see a very thin membrane at 13 weeks making them mo/di. I think this happens a lot because the membrane can be tricky to spot

I'm pregnant with identical twins . Same sac with a membrane in between. I found out I was pregnant at 11weeks 5days . They were able to see it then. Do not stress your self or Google to much . It won't help you . Just take care of your self and go to a different doctor if it makes you more comfortable to have a Second opinion.

I'm 31+5 with mono mono twins.  Do they each have their own yolk sac?  If they do chances are they are mono/di.  There is still plenty of time for them to find a membrane too.  If they are mono mono please stay off google.  Most of the stats you will find are outdated.  Don't let your dr scare you.  If he or she isn't supportive find one that is.  And join the Facebook support groups for momo twins, it's great.

Found out twins at 7 weeks. Didnt find the membrane till 14weeks. Even now at 26 weeks its still hard to find. It took about 20 minutes last time just for the tech to be able to see it. Even if they are momo, your drs will take care of you. Most specialists will not see you until 12-14 weeks. Mine was 14 weeks and i go every 2 weeks.

I am having mono/di girls and I'm 23 weeks! We didn't find out there were two until 16 weeks and my dr told us they were sharing a sac too! At our anatomy scan at 21 weeks we could see a very thin membrane separating our babies! It is very hard to see, but it's there! Don't worry, just be patient and have faith. This is my very first pregnancy, so it is scary sometimes. Just write down all your symptoms and communicate with your doctor!
