Is intelligence inherited or taught?

Do you think intelligence is something that is inherited from your parents? Or is it a product of your environment? Or is it just luck?

Since there is not a 100% concordance rate for intelligence between monozygotic twins, intelligence is said to have genetic basis which is also further impacted by the environment.

Minnesota Twin Study is a longitudinal study that investigates genetic basis of X, Y and Z. Intelligence was one they investigated. You can look it up on GOOGLE if you wish to find out more.

depends 100% on what you're defining as "intelligence"... common sense? mathmatical? scientific? vocabulary? musical? emotional? leadership? school, in general? wilderness? like damn.

Somethings can be taught and somethings you wonder how someone so stupid could have such a smart child.

Both for sure. My father is insanely intelligent and taught me to read at home prior to preschool. I credit my natural quickness and humor to him. My mother on the other hand is not educated whatsoever but has been able to constantly out work and outperform peers and is the most successful person I know with a GED.  She puts a serious emphasis on education and thinking logically. I think my commitment to growing and expanding my knowledge comes from her. It's nature and nurture.

Both and I think the people who you are around the most while growing up can sway your intelligence level quite a bit. That goes for your family, teachers, friends, etc. Some is certainly genetic

I think there's a lot that plays into it . For example some people naturally have a high IQ and didn't have to study and work on it. I know people who have the IQ of a genius but wast it. Then there are people who have to work hard and really study to learn. So I say both

I think neither. It is what it is.

My son has learning difficulties and needs a lot of help. Neither myself or his dad had any issues with learning. I was just more interested than he was. 
No matter how many hours or how many ounces of patience I've had over the years there just seems to be this 2 year gap between what my son is being taught and what he learns. He didn't inherit his issues and they certainly weren't taught. 
He's by no means daft though; his problem solving skills have always astounded me. however he can't explain how he arrives at his answers which holds him back at school despite being right.

Even between myself and my brother there are a lot of differences. But we were taught everything in the same way and come from the same parents.

I agree that it's both. My dad is an engineer, my mom was in NHS, etc. and I am in NHS and have a 4.2 gpa and am attending a community college while still in high school. But also my mom taught me the states and countries in Africa and I knew them before I was two and I could play piano before I could walk. I also did flash cards with Spanish and math all through elementary. It's definitely both in my opinion.

Both. I think your environment regardless of your level of education can play a role in intelligence.
