So my last pregnancy ended up in a C-Section.  And my family wasn't allowed into the room until an hour after I had our son, so that we can have skin to skin, try to breast feed, and be alone with our baby.  This was all protocol at the hospital, not my birthplan.  This time we are going to go with a VBAC, if everything goes well.  Now my question is ...

Would I be wrong if I just want my husband with me in the delivery room?

We also have a 6 year old, but I don't think I would want him there during labor and delivery.

My family and I are very close, and I don't want anyone to feel hurt, but I also want to enjoy our daughter before anyone else gets to see her.

Ugh this is the hardest !!!

Just tell the nurses and they'll make sure no one comes in until you say they can.

I don't think that you're wrong. This is our first baby and both families first grandchild and we're not allowing any visitors until the next day. We want bonding time and time to just relax. Your body goes through so much and I just want to enjoy that time with my husband and new born son.
