Do you think long-distance relationships are worth it?

I'm from the UK on an exchange year in the USA and I've met an American guy. We have so much fun and he is very similar to me but I can't help but wonder is there a point to continuing when we know we will be apart after this year?

I know where you are coming from, I'm from the UK and in a relationship with someone from the USA, been together a year and 3 months. I think it is totally worth it but you have to think about how often you will actually see them and if there is a time that you would get to actually be together!

If you want it bad enough, there's always a way. You just have to make it happen. Otherwise just be happy and enjoy the time you have left together. Hope it works out :-)

I met my wife online and we did the LDR thing. I hated it. But we made it work before I moved from California to Washington to live with her. 
The key for us was constant communication. We spoke on the phone, skyped, sent endless texts, photos, and voice messages daily (and a lot of the time hourly too haha). 
So it sucked, but it was 100% worth it.

It can work as long as you both put an effort into it. I'm living in southern California and my boyfriend is in Washington, so it's a bit hard, but I was planning on moving to Washington as soon as I could, even before I met him, so it's probably going to work out just fine.
