I had my DD 3 1/2 years ago. We saved everything. I don't see the need in having another shower since we have everything. And I don't want more stuff. A couple of friends have asked if I was having a shower and I just told them no cus we didn't need anything. (While I'm thinking to myself, what am I gonna do throw a shower for myself?) My MIL just mentioned that she and a friend of mine were conspiring to throw one for me. That's great and all but I don't have the need or the time. I love where their hearts are. That was until my MIL said "every baby deserves some new stuff". She might as well said, you're not being a good mom if you make your kid wear hand-me-downs. Good freaking grief!!! We make enough money to buy our last kid her own special stuff! Why must you assume that she isn't going to get any new duds? Sorry if I'm frugal!! But there is a reason that your son and I aren't in the poor house...cus we don't buy crap we don't need. Unlike...the MIL. Grrrrr just venting. But it drives me nuts.
