Diaper Raffle? Yay or Nay?

I think I posted about this before but I can't find it.

Any of you ladies have a diaper raffle at your shower or throw a shower that included a diaper raffle for someone else?

My mom INSISTS that if I put a diaper raffle request along with my invitations, that "people won't buy you a gift and diapers, they'll just go for the cheaper option of buying some diapers."

PLEASE tell me if any of you had a diaper raffle at your/someone else's shower and if you in fact did receive diapers in addition to gifts or if you only got diapers.

I know I probably sound greedy, but hey. If i don't have to buy as many diapers-I'm all for it.

P.S. I just had a thought- did you register for diapers/wipes? Like is that something you put on the registry or is it just a given that you'll need them?

My husbands having a diaper party with all of his buddies. Lol it's really just an excuse for them to get together and get drunk but it's kinda funny. Diapers are like an admission ticket to the party. Hey in not complaining gives him some guy time and gets us a bunch of free diapers. Win-Win!! 😊

If your not comfortable asking, have whoever is throwing the shower give the invitations or make the Facebook event and maintain it. We had one and not everyone brought some and it was optional but most brought a small gift as well.

from the registries that I have seen people register for diapers cause they may prefer a particular brand

I think my friends baby shower had a diaper raffle and she still got alot of gifts plus diapers, I say do it!

People know you need diapers. That's not tacky. Register for them! We're doing cloth and my friends put in the invitation to please bring a diaper or diaper accessory. They're not cheap!

I only intended to do a raffle. I specifically put in the invitations "gifts not necessary but bring diapers if you'd like to participate in the raffle" I got a mountain of diapers and still a ton of gifts.

I registered for diapers because I'm not into the conventional toxic kind. I was happy to get some.

As for the raffle, I'm not sure what that is, but I personally already feel so guilty about asking for gifts that I wouldn't be able to bring myself to ask for more... But that's just me!
