Did you have your first child early?

I'm a FTM and am 29 weeks and I've been getting crap because I'm paranoid of having my kid early. I've bought 2-3 premie outfits and am trying to get my diaper backpack ASAP just in case but when people find out, they give me looks or say stuff like "you ain't having it early you don't need to do all that."

How many first time moms had their child early ?

Mt son was born at 36w but that was onky because they thought I was farther along due to how big he was and we became pregnant while I was on birth control and we had even gone 10 days past when they said I was suppose to be due and I had no signs of labor starring so I was induced with him.
My daughter was also 11 days over due and I had no signs of her coming either. My Dr couldn't even do a sweep to get it going because I was still closed up. I was induced with her too cuz my Dr said I might just be one of those women who can't get labour started naturally and need help but once my labor is started my body knows what to do then.

Delivered on due date BUT my daughter wore preemie outfits for the first week or two because she was a small baby. So you may need to use the stuff, it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Everyone told me the same thing, even hubby would tell me not to worry about packing my bag and stuff so early. I had my bags and everything ready for the hospital at 29-30 weeks and had my baby three weeks early, had no idea I was in labor until I was in so much pain I went to the hospital and was 7cm. (Thought I was having BH all day)

So I say don't let anyone tell you when your baby is going to be here because I didn't think she would be early and I thought for sure I'd know when I was in labor and suprise.

I had my little girl 3 weeks early but that's because I had pre eclempsia so had to have her early, if it puts your mind at rest then ignore what they say, it's unlikely but not unheard of!

With my first pregnancy, I has preterm labour starting at 23w. I got steroid shots to mature my daughter's lungs just in case. I also went on bed rest for 3 months. I had her at 39w 5d. She was perfectly healthy.

Then I got pregnant with twins 5yrs later. I went into full blown labour at 30, 33, and 36 weeks. I was 5cm dilated from 34w on with bulging waters. I still walked around and did normal stuff. I was induced at 37w2d because I had cholestasis (however, I doubt I would have lasted much longer on my own).

I have a naturally short cervix, which not pregnant is 2.6cm, and when I'm pregnant it shortens the further along I get.

I carried a Singleton and twins to term despite being high risk and preterm labour. I think you'll be just fine.
