Hot tubs?

It's my mums birthday on Thursday, and she has booked us both in for a spa day, which includes sauna, massage, hot tub, aromatherapy and swimming. I'm not keen on sauna, but do you think I'll be ok in hot tub and the rest if I'm careful? I'm 29+5 xx

I am a massage therapist and I work in a spa. You can not safely go into the sauna or the hot tub and you need to make sure you tell them it needs to be a prenatal massage, sometimes there's extra cost with that.

Absolutely no Saunas or hot tubs! And be careful with the massage, it can induce your labor! It's a very nice thoughtful gift but if I were you I would reschedule it for after the birth.

I would just put your feet in just to be safe ;) then you can still chat with your mom and have a good time without worrying about/risking your little one. Definitely no sauna like you said, and be sure that any massages are done by someone who is certified in prenatal massage (not all massage therapists are) but prenatal massages are AMAZING!! My midwives as well as my OB said that you are allowed to use them as long as your core body temperature doesn't rise above 100.3 because it can cause damage to the baby.

You're not supposed to get in a hot tub at any point in pregnancy because it raises your overall body temperature. Maybe just put your feet in?

Depends on how hot the hot tub is- if it's 100 or 101 it's probably ok. Not for too long though. And anything hotter, maybe just sit on the side with your feet in.

As for massage, just make sure the therapist can do prenatal massage and ask your doctor if it's ok for you.

Not the sauna. Dips into the tub are fine,  just stop if you feel hot.  If it's a nice spa they may have pools of different Temps. Call ahead? I doubt you're the first pg lady to show up.

I had a spa day recently. I soaked my legs and feet which felt great! I used the steam room for like s minute because of all the sinus issues I've been having.

My midwife told me at my last appointment that a hot tub is fine in the third tri as long as you pay attention and only go in short spurts as not to raise your core temp too much.. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable doing it but taking a quick dip is probably fine
