Trouble Conceiving after Mirena

It's been a little over a year since I have gotten my iud taken out. We have been ttc ever since. I did leave it in for the full 5 years but no longer. I've had no problems. Period went right back to how it was before my twins (conceived with another man). But now it just seems like it's not going to happen. We dont have the money to see a fertility doctor right now. Has anyone had any experience with conceiving after the iud was taken out? How long did it take?
