Do they seriously change all car seat bases?

My last baby was in 2013. With brand new stuff..stroller 3 car seat bases. I got a new graco car seat for this pregnancy (understand need to be updated on those) and thinking I could use the same bases and not have to buy more. Nope. To the store and more I have to buy. They do this why because they can and want our money. Sorry for the mommy rant!...I'm tired today 😁

Does car seat really have to be updated from 2013? My sister had a set of twins in 2012 and another in2015. She used same car seats.

Yep my baby trend bases no longer work for the new baby trend car seat I got 😓

Car seats usually expire in 5-6 years as long as there were no accidents involved.
