What should I do?

So I am 10 weeks pregnant and my brother and soon to be sister in law are getting married the first week of May. They are getting married on a cruise ship that makes stops in key west and Cozumel. I'm slightly freaking out about this zika virus but I would also hate to miss their wedding. Any advice??

I cancelled to go in my sister in laws wedding on a cruise in may also  - very sad about it but too worried about mosquitos. I usually get attacked. Carnival is 24 weeks.

I would talk with your doctor about it. My husband earned a trip to Cabo with work and I'm not going. I had already decided that bc I'll still be first trimester. However, I talked with my doc about it at my last appointment and she said so much is still unknown. My husband is going on the trip and she said when he gets back, she suggests using protection if we're intimate. She said since so much is unknown and that with Ebola they were still finding it in nasal secretions and semen of those who were technically "better" up to a year after they had contacted it. So I'd just talk to your doctor to see what s/he suggests.

Are they getting married on the ship? If so I would just stay on the boat when you are docked in the places that may threaten your babys safety.

Can you go on the cruise but (a) leave early, or (B) stay on the ship in areas where you're concerned about Zika?  You should be fine between stops - there wouldn't really be mosquitoes at sea.

Oh dang :( the only advice id give is to limit your time off the boat except for the actual wedding and bring bug spray. I've read a lot of articles that say most women who give birth to babies with microcephaly contracted the Zika virus in the 1st trimester. You'll be well into the 2nd trimester but I'd still take precautions by covering up and bug spray!
