So I just got an offer to a pretty good job in Winchester VA and I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with the area? What's the dating like? What's it like moving to a new state totally alone? I'm afraid I will miss my family and I won't make friends or find a husband.  I just have so many worries but it's such a good opportunity and I'm 25, if not now then when

I'm not from there but I say you only live once. It's worth a shot. You'll meet friends most likely at work and then I'm sure even if there's not many people there, there's a city close by to meet and date men. I wouldn't pass up a good opportunity because of fear of the unknown. Live life girl!

There isn't really a lot to do in Winchester. I lived there for 5 years and just recently moved to Chicago. But the bar and billiards can be fun (Blue Fox). Sometimes downtown has events and some of those are fun. Apple Blossom is fun for a couple years, then it gets annoying (too many people). There is a movie theater and a small mall. It has grown considerably in the past few years. Ask around at your job too. Best way to make friend and have connections.

I currently live in the Washington, D.C. area and commute back and forth to Francd. Winchester is very rural not a city at all really compared to DC. But you can always go to northern va and DC on the weekends. They are more for singles. I am married but do have single friends in Washington, D.C. and they love it.
