Anyone have experience with the both control implanon?

Yes I had it for 4 years and I loved it!!! No problems and no periods! I got off of it in February becausey husband and I decided to have another baby which is now due in January!!

I had mine removed in September. I absolutely hated it. It made me had a 3 week period every 3 weeks. Gave me daily headaches, made me extremely depressed and super emotional. I do not plan on getting it again.

I just gotten mine taken out , it had me doing back flips in and out of my emotions , constantly feeling pain and horrible headaches . I couldn't take it no more , and my partner would get hives EVERYTIME we had sex . It was crazy . I even has a moment in time for about three months where I was bleeding constantly with no break . I wouldn't consider getting it again unless I was close to leaving for basic , right now I'm using nuvaring . Doing good since February 26th, 2014

I've had this form of bc for 12 years now. I LOVE IT!!! I only have periods for lady 3-4 months before I get a new one. It has been amazing!!! Only draw back I've found is some facial hair in the last 2 years, nothing my laser can't handle :)

Another reoccurring symptom that I kept getting from it was BV. I went to the ER and I told the Dr. about my symptoms and he finished my list of symptoms for me. He said that his wife had the implanon and that we shared symptoms. He told me to have it removed ASAP by my Dr. and if she wouldn't remove it he wanted me to come back to the ER and he would remove it. I went to my Dr. and after going a series of questions (that felt like a complete psychological eaxm) she finally removed it. I still had symptoms for atleast another wk or so... But after that my body was back to normal... I would NOT suggest this method of BC to anyone, not even my worst enemy!

I had it for three years. At first, I loved it. Then I realized it made my skin really oily. Also, I didn't realize how much my sex drive plummeted until I got it removed. I had it removed in April, and I am ready for sex pretty much all the time now. :) This will sound weird - but I swear implanon made my upper arms fatter and jiggly. I don't know of it was the hormones, but I swear it's true!

It's now called nexplanon... Implanon was discontinued in the US in late 2011... I got the implanon in mid march of 2012. 3wks after getting it my hair had fallen out (it was shoulder length when I 1st got it, 3wks later it was @ my jaw line). It sent me through terrible mood swings, I felt like I was going insane, horrible periods that lasted for wks, and it made my arm go numb.

Just got mine out.  It was aggravating having a period all the time.  Doc said that 20-30% of users have experienced menstruation issues.  I much preferred the IUD.

I recently had my implanon removed. For me personally it just wasn't a good fit. It can take some time for your body to adjust to it, but mine still hadn't after 2 years. I had horrible acne flare ups, gained weight, and worst of all had my period all the time. I was lucky if I got one week a month without it, usually I would get a 2-3 day break every 3 weeks. I tried everything I could think of to help my body adjust but nothing worked. Within 2 days of taking it out I've dropped 5 lbs and my acne is starting to clear up, still waiting for my cycle to go back to normal but I'm not sure how long it will take. Not every method works for every woman but you should definitely consider side effects when weighing your options
