Before or after breakfast ?

Do you brush ur teeth before eating breakfast or after ? I brush before because I feel I would be eating all the bacteria that builds up overnight but I've heard people say they brush after breakfast bcus they brushed at night and haven't ate anything since and cus it makes their food taste like toothpaste . Thoughts
