Life support.

If someone in your family was on life support. Would you make the choice to "pull the plug" or leave them in for as long as you can? Personally if they have no brain activity I wouldn't make them suffer anymore than needed. But I know some people struggle with letting go. Sorry if this touched close to home with anyone.
