Is sex everything?

My boyfriend, and I have an on going argument. 
How important is sex? According to him its one of the most important things, and the more sex the better. If there is an opportunity to have it you take it.  Sex keep things together

(Eg he got upset, and we got into a fight cause I didn't want too cause of the time, and I had a pap test just a few hours before )

I think have sex a lot is great, but not its not important enough to get into a fight, and upset if you don't have sex. I feel intimacy is more important. Talking, cuddling and such. That leads to sex anyhow. And if you don't end up having it it's okay. (Meaning not getting mad, and upset over it)

It's a huge thing to me. That's how I feel close and connected with my man. If we don't have sex often I feel ugly and unwanted. Sex is huge

Sex to me isn't everything. If ever there came a time in life where he physically couldn't preform anymore (like bad accident, paralyzed from the waist down) I'd still stay with him. I love him for him. Not for what he can do to me physically. It's a great fantastic bonus. But I can get sex from anyone. I'm with him because we have something (more than sex) that I can't find anywhere else. And I wouldn't even want to try to find it anywhere else. He's my lobster.

I think sex is important, but communication and intimacy is more important. That being said, if I feel my sex life isn't enough, we will be discussing it and making a plan to make us both happy and comfortable.

Sex is an important thing in a relationship of course it is but no it is not the most important thing! Yeah it's amazing but sometimes you just want the closeness without the sex like the cuddles and kisses and a nice massage or tickle. Xxx

Sex is important, but its not everything. I had the same argument with my boyfriend. He has a high sex drive (a little too high) so for him sex keeps him in a good mood. It depends on the person.

I just left a three year relationship because of the lack of sex . No it's not the malt important thing but let's not take away from the fact that it's up there on the list of important things . When people talk about how you would have to deal with this is he were paralyzed and stuff I agree it would be terrible if someone to leave a person they love because they are physically unable to have sex but that's not the case here he's an able bodied person and so are you and with that being said its not normal to be young and have issues with sex like this . Over time no matter how much you try to focus on other aspects of the relationships this is always going to bother you if it dosent change . Intimacy is huge and yes you can be intimate by cuddling and touching but the ultimate act of physical intimacy is sex and when someone denies you that you start to think something is wrong with you and by the end your confidence is so shot you can barely find the courage to leave to find someone else

Sex can be important. But it's also not at the same time. I think it varies. I mean...my grandparents were together for 60 years....and they weren't having much sex for probably 20-25 years of it. There are also couples who stay together through bad accidents and full body paralysis...where sex isn't possible. They stay faithful. Sex is important and fun and can make you feel closer and connected...but so can many other things. Some couples choose a completely tantric lifestyle....it depends on the person/s and their personal capacity to connect with another....some people are purely physical...some are purely emotional. I find a good balance of the in between so you're satisfied both physically and mentally/emotionally. There isn't really a winning side to this argument. Lol
