Do you think women are afraid to label themselves as bisexual? (Or anything other than straight?)

I see a lot of posts going:- "I'm 100% straight and like men but I'm attracted to/want to sleep with/have feelings for women, does that make me not straight?" And a lot of women on here vote and tell said person that they're still straight, which confuses me.
Being "straight/heterosexual" means being sexually attracted to the opposite sex, which is not what these women feel. Whereas being bisexual (where you can have differing levels of attraction to both genders) is a more accurate description of their sexuality.

So, I'm overall confused by certain peoples outlooks on this topic. Do you think women are afraid to label themselves as anything other than straight? Or do you think there are other reasons for this "logic/opinion"? 🤔

Let me say first that I don't care how other people label themselves. At all.

But I think a lot of women label themselves straight just because they are in a relationship with or are married to a man.

Most people assume I am straight because of that. I don't correct them.

I think some people won't call themselves as Bisexual because they don't necessarily want a relationship with a woman and only want them sexually.

Yeah I do think so. They tend to not use the word "bisexual" on tv shows either, like orange is the new black or the OC or anything. I know a girl who has been in serious relationships with women and men and still doesn't use the word bisexual, all she says is "I'm not gay". No one should feel forced to label themselves, but women do seem reluctant to call themselves anything but straight.

I think it's way more socially accepted for a girl to experiment and be bisexual or lesbian then it is for men to be anything but straight. but it's not easy or simple for anybody

I'm 100 percent pansexual and not afraid to say it. Never have been. I came out to my parents in high school and they pretty much just roll with it. They've never said anything derogatory. No one has. Really. It's just part of who I am. It's not all of who I am.

I can't speak for other women, but I dont prefer labels. I haven't been with a woman in almost 15 years (much to my husband's disappointment lol), but my choices have nothing to do with preference.

I want a monogamous relationship and I'm married to a man. That doesn't make me straight and it doesn't make me bi.

I am bisexual but I am with a man for life :) we have a beautiful son together.

I don't really like to label myself as anything. I'm sexually attracted to women as well but have never had actual feelings for one. Maybe I will one day, maybe I won't, at the end of the day it doesn't really make a difference to me.
