C-section or natural birth!?

Hi my due date is November 1 but my doc said I m going to have a C-section 23-25 October because with my first baby I had a C-section and he is only 19 months old. What do u think?

I agree with everyone else. Sounds like he's going by his default preference and not considering your individual case.

I'd ask what it is about your situation that is making him insist on a C and be prepared with counter evidence (i.e. the 18 months recommendation).

If he won't even discuss it, switch. Period. A doc that won't discuss the rationale for a treatment plan isn't worth keeping.

Your doctor sounds like they just aren't vbac friendly. If it is something that is important you I would research other doctors and hospitals in your area that are. See if there is a local iCan group in your area, they would be a great resource. The general rule is 18 months from birth to birth, so you would be well within that.

1) Some hospitals won't do a Vbac. So check their rules. 
2) Some Doctors won't do Vbacs.

I'm in the same boat, changed hospitals this time. Still not sure which I'll choose, but either way we'll have beautiful babies.

I was told if I spaced my pregnancies at least 18 months apart I could try for a vbac, I'm sure you could too. I would talk to my Dr more about it if I were you
