Do you knock before entering a single person public bathroom?

So this is one of my biggest pet peeves lol. I ALWAYS knock before entering a public bathroom (single person), regardless of if I think anyone is in there. Even if it looks like the light is off and like it's vacant, I still knock because you can never be too sure and I would hate to walk in on someone.

However, it seems that not everyone else is this way. I have been walked in on while on the toilet more times than I can count! I always try to lock the door but sometimes the lock doesn't work or it doesn't lock properly. And people have walked in on me without even bothering to knock to see if the bathroom was in use! I know I'm probably blowing this out of proportion but it just bothers me lol. What do you ladies do?

I can't stand when I knock and I wait like 3 to 4 seconds and I hear no reply then I open the door and someone is in there. Like hello?? You should have said someone is in here!😒

If the door won't lock properly, I'd REALLY try to find someone to hold the door closed for me. I freakin hate public bathrooms.

I don't knock. It's the risk a person takes peeing in a bathroom that doesn't lock. I don't care if someone walks in on me. They are the ones embarrassed anyway. Just do your best.

I always knock!!' I've walked in on too many folks who either didn't lick the door or the door lick wasn't working right.....we have all been in those stalls😳!

I wouldn't use a bathroom without a lock. Being said I can count on one hand the amount of times I've used a public restroom lol. I'd get an employee to chill at the door if the lock didn't work and I had to go that bad

I knock on a closed door in my own house! I don't want to walk in on my husband sitting on the toilet or doing some other private bathroom stuff. And I certainly don't want to walk in on a stranger 😣. So yes, I knock.

I always knock, but that's how I was brought up, to knock on a door that's closed. If it's a multi-stall bathroom and all the stalls are closed, I knock before trying to enter one. It irks me when I see people looking under stall doors to see if it's occupied.
