Difference between a midwife and regular labor dr?

Should I be looking for a midwife? What's the difference between a midwife and a regular dr? What are the benefits? I just hear a lot of people say they are having a midwife during labor and I was wondering if I should too!

It's your preference. A doctor is trained to do everything and surgery when a midwife is trained to do everything but surgery. I hear some women like to have both a doctor and midwife just in case anything goes wrong and they need medical attention or surgery in an emergency situation.
