No hcg or progesterone level testing?

Hi ladies! I got my first positive home pregnancy test yesterday morning!!  I called my doctor's office right away and was REALLY surprised when they said my FIRST appointment won't be until April 7th (for ultrasound and 1st meeting with the doctor). I asked about hcg and progesterone level testing but was told that since my cycles are fairly regular (25-29 days) and I am in my late 20's and don't have any medical conditions, there's no diagnostic testing or appointments necessary until I am 8 weeks (I'm due November 16)...is anyone else not going for their first appointment until 8 weeks?

I will be 10w2d at my first appointment! The clinic where I work offered to do level tests for me every 2 days but I hate getting blood drawn and think it would stress me out if the levels didn't seem normal so I am choosing to wait! I do wish my appointment was sooner.

You can do it yourself through Walkinlab.com. They are probably right. I have normal cycles and when I checked my progesterone it was fine. Try to just focus on the excitement of being pregnant!

Same here! I had a loss in October and have asked my doctor a few times to do the bloodwork so that I can relax... But nope, she wants me to wait until my first visit (on the 21st). If you are anxious maybe you can go to a GP and ask for it! I did and I am much more calm now.  Congrats, btw! :)

Completely normal...8 weeks they actual will do your first ultra sound as well and be able to see something. Anything before is so hard to see.

It's really common not to go in until 8 to 12 weeks if it's your first pregnancy or you have no history of complications. I only get mine tested and an early scan because is have had 5 losses.

I thought it was crazy that they didn't ask for blood work or anything either. My doctor doesn't schedule until 8 weeks either.

It's hard to wait but actually better I've heard because when you're father along its easier to find the heartbeat 😀.
