Your Body After Miscarriage

I've recently had a missed miscarriage (with the help of Misoprostal) I believe everything has passed. Was a sad and scary process but Ive noticed theres not much information out there for women AFTER the miscarriage.
Its been a week since this occurred,
I have what seems to be alot of pressure in my uterus, heightened when i use the washroom, etc.
This page is for women to discuss (at their own discretion) their experience AFTER a miscarriage.
Did you experience pain/ discomfort? For how long afterwards?

I had a d and e after a mmc last April at 15 weeks. I was in a lot of pain for a good week, developed a terrible case of (sorry tmi) hemorrhoids afterwards. My abdomen was quite sore for a few weeks as things shrank down. periods after were much lighter so i took dong quai to thicken up the lining.I'd like to say I've dropped my baby weight, but I'm still up 6 pounds. The post partum was the hardest part for me.we started ttc again 3 mos after, still waiting for a bfp. All the best to u, I'm very sorry for ur loss.

First, sorry for your loss. I mc in Oct at six weeks. It was a natural mc, no meds or d/c required. I cramped and began my period exactly one month after I mc. My hcg was at a 5 by the end of Oct. Technically, not pregnant. My body before mc was regular and even after my son was born, I bounced right back, now each period after mc has been irregular, short, and contains stringy like clots. I have been assured this is normal. My period this month is the best it has been. Who says that?!? :) Time does heal, but as I look to the calendar my impending due date approaches (May 29) and I am reminded of the pain and sorrow. We did continue to try until last month. My body isn't ready and I want the mental break as well. We hope to resume in July. Hope this helps someone. There really isn't much info out there. Each mc is different.

Just try and stay stress free, perhaps a break is a good plan. It will happen I am sure. Hope for the best :)

Thanks ladies for ur comments and sharing your experiences..I had a mc at 9w6dHorrible pain and contraction type cramping...It has only been 5 days and still cramping and bleeding...Like others have said I am amazed at the lack of information about after and during miscarriage... It's like it is a taboo subject...My husband and I discussed the other day that we would wait a month before we seriously ttc again and if it happens this month so be it... But told him we can't bd until bleeding stops..Will keep you posted but looking forward to the support we can give each other.. :)

I miscarried one month ago -- bled for a week and a half. Took a while to feel like my normal self again. I started what I'm assuming is my period last week, but at this point am so mentally drained that I have no clue. It started around when I would have had a period before I miscarried. I think it might take some time before my periods feel normal again.

My first cycle has been different than usual -- a little longer, a few more small clots, and a little extra cramping

I have had 3 early miscarriages and they were all really different. My second miscarraige threw my cycles out of whack for 4 months. My last one - a couple of weeks ago was the easiest. I'm hoping because of this my cycles will return to normal quicker.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I miscarried at 8 weeks last year. After I thought I had passed all of the tissue I still continued to feel crampy (though not as bad) and it took my body a few weeks to recover. It's a very emotional and physical process. If you're concerned you can take a HPT to make sure it's negative or give your Dr. a call. Mine was extremely supportive. Hugs!
