I haven't heard of any safety concerns with them but make sure you test it out somewhere hidden (even if you've used it before) because I've heard the hormonal and skin changes can make it turn more orange than usual.

I Googled this the other day and found out that self tanning lotion is safe as it dyes the top of your skin and doesn't soak into your blood stream

I'd love to get a spray tan but my OBGYN noted it as something that shouldn't be done while pregnant.  They said there are some ingredients that aren't safe and don't have proper testing especially on pregnant woman.  Wish I found one that was approved but guess I'll have to wait a few more months and stay white ugh!
