What are you doing to save money with your baby :)?

Breastfeed as long as possible, don't waste money on formula. Use reusable cloth diapers and reusable cloth wipes. Buy toys and clothes at garage sales, secondhand shops, ask friends and family for unused baby items. Don't buy things you don't need.

Target has great gift card offers right now on diapers. I use coupons and am stocked up for a few months. A also have accumulated enough gift cards to get our car seat.

Cloth diapering and breastfeeding (hopefully) will be the big money savers long term for us, but in also trying to find good deals and buy second hand for stuff that doesn't need to be brand new. My salary will be 55% for the year I'm on mat leave, so we've been practicing living on less and saving the extra for emergencies.

There are a bunch of companies that'll send you a free trial and coupons, seventh generation has the best free trial ( a whole package of diapers and wipes). I'm stocking up now on diapers and wipes. If I see a deal I grab it, I got a winter coat for next winter for $6.

Every month we've put $50 on a Target gift card, bought wipes and some diapers (you never know how fast they'll grow!). Purchased most items from garage sales (all furniture for less than $100). We bought only mattress, bedding, and car seat brand new.

Cloth diapering is a great way to save loads of money! You can even cut recievig blankets and make cloth wipes and make an easy wipe spray. Breastfeeding as well!! Don't feel like you need all the baby items as many are super unnnecessary.

Things you don't need to buy:

A diaper changing table. (You will end up changing them all over the house and its hard to change them side ways)

A crib (I spent $500 on mine. My kid is 4 and never slept in it)

A pack and play

baby bouncer

Diaper pail (grocery bags  work just fine)

Diaper storage bag (diapers are just fine left in their bags)

Huggies and pampers leak and are over rated. (Luvs work best)

Expensive diaper bag (any kind of bag will do)

Breastfeeding as long as possible, hand-me-downs and craigslist/consignment clothes, and cloth diapering (including homemade cloth wipes). Also, no prepackaged baby food when it's time. We have a great blender, storage containers, and know how to steam veggies. An easy way to save loads of money. Also, check out some of the minimalist mama bloggers who offer alternative lists to help you get ready for baby. Don't use the lists from sites that are sponsored by the stuff they're trying to sell you.

I plan on breast feeding, I've also been looking for sales on diapers/wipes and stock piling when the price is super low. Also been shopping clearance racks for cheap off season clothes. Also shopping at Marshalls and such for clothes since they're cheaper
