Early Tests

I have tested 3 days before AF is due (this morning) got another BFN! Used a clearblue test which advises can detect up to 4 days prior to AF. Trying to stay optimistic, is there a chance that I tested too early? Haven't really had many symptoms so think I may be kidding myself.
