Stretch mark prevention

Okay ladies, what is the best way to prevent stretch marks? I've been putting a lot of lotion on after showers on my vulnerable areas that stretch marks would show, but I am just using whatever lotion I have, is there any specific products you all have used that have prevented it for the most part?
