Why do ginger snaps habe to be so hard!

Theybare so good but so hard... what can't they be chewy!!?

There are chewy ginger snaps out there-they're tough to find but I find them everyone and then at Stop and Shop

I've got a great recipe for soft, chewy, ginger cookies. ....... i make them every year for friends and neighbors. ....and they're super easy..... and the ginger helps soothe the belly. ...... :-)

Trader Joe's makes a nice one. Not chewy, but not like a rock either and pieces of candied ginger in them.
