Cameras $250 and under?

Question

Can someone reccomend a good quality camera for around $250 or under? I don't need anything fancy, just want something I can use to take good pictures of my kids. 
I was l looking at the Canon Powershot SX530 HS, but not sure how the quality is?

I had a canon powershot before hubs got me a rebel. I loved it. Would definitely reccomend

I'm a professional photographer, and when people ask me this, I always recommend a Canon point and shoot. Very good quality for the price.

I found a canon rebel on Craigslist for 150. It's in great shape and a good little camera!

My husband bought me a used camera on amazon that I wanted. Sadly couldn't afford the 500 and up tags for new ones. It is a Sony Nex-5 and I love it! It was a bit higher than 250 it was 275 and used but its amazing and I'm so happy with it. So look into that as an option 😉
