How did you come out to those closest to you?

My family is very religious, and very anti-gay, I have no idea how to tell them who I really am.

I wrote mine a letter and then I got a big talking to afterwards my experience didn't go very well I had to stop my relationship that I was in for almost 2 years that I had to keep secret all that time but it wasn't a good relationship she pressured me into telling my parents so it was a combo and they too this day believe I am straight not the bisexual person that I am I know some say ohh its a phase u will get passed it no I am a bisexual yes I am with a man but I still attracted to women my parents told me not to tell anyone in my family what I am or that I ever dated her but I do hope your coming out goes better then mine did I got grounded for being who I am as a person good luck

My boyfriend knew before we were together bc I offered to wingman for him with the girl he was into's roommate, haha. Nobody else has been explicitly told of my sexual preference bc to me it just seems like if they bothered to pay attention they'd know and if they didn't I don't care enough to involve them in my personal life. My preferences are on my Facebook, I feel like it's not my problem to update anyone on something they could see with virtually no effort. Ive never actually "come out" to anyone because for me it would feel weird making a big statement for something that seems so minor.

Told all my friends and they did not have any issues. I wrote my parents a letter and they were confused yet are starting to become less confused as the years go on. It had been over ten years since i came out so my parents r familiar with the women in and out of my life and they just adapt.
