I think it depends on your overall health and eating habits not necessarily your size.

If your overweight and the majority of your diet is processed food, junk food or fast food then your body isn't getting the nutrients it needs to thrive and it'll show in your physical appearance from body fat to poor skin/hair/nails.

On the other end of the spectrum the same can be said for someone who is underweight. If that person isn't eating enough their bodies are just as nutrient starved, they just used a different method to get there. Their hair/nails/skin will be in just as poor condition.

Eat a healthy, balanced diet with lots of vegetables, moderate fruit/dairy/animal proteins, eat fish a few times a week, and stay well hydrated. Your body and mind will thrive if you put the right things into it.

I would think that it can. When you get to the point of being "morbidly obese" you will definitely have a fat increase over your skull. This will stretch your skin, and space each hair follicle out more. This would show more skin between the roots and give the appearance of thinning hair. So in theory if you lost the weight, your hair would look thicker. But I'm thinking this would only start happening upwards of 350 pounds...

Thyroid issues and poor nutrition can lead to poor quality hair... But... These are not exclusive & thin women can have these symptoms.

I'm a bigger woman and I have thick ass hair. Unless you have PCOS or thyroid problem they generally wouldn't have a connection to each other.
