What if metformin doesn't work?

My doctor is probably gunna take me off metformin... I was really hoping this was it but met is giving me bad side affects... What's next if met doesn't work?? ??

Have you tried going on a diabetic diet and daily exercising? Sorry if this is a stupid question...

What sort of side effects are you getting from it?

I hate metformin too - but ask for extended release Glucophage - which is the brand name. It is more extensive but had WAY less side effects for me.
