Marijuana legalization?

Question

Should states other than colorado and washington legalize marijuana? Do you think it would minimize government debt? Do you think it would lessen other drug use? Do you think it would lessen cases of people using laced marijuana? Please comment, I want to know reasonings as to why or why not marijuana should be legalized in your opinion!!

Yes and I think for recreational and not just medical. Alcohol is legal and does more harm, anyone can research this information and find it to be true. I don't think people should be arrested for weed alone and rather see my tax dollars keeping those committing violent crimes off the street. I think it's messed up that there's people getting fined more or more jail time than someone who rapes or kills someone. Honestly only reason I think it's not legal is money as it's a plant that can be grown unlike alcohol which isn't as easy to make on your own.

I really think that if cigarettes and alcohol can be legal then so should Weed. With the amount of death rates both of them have caused and can still be legal is beyond me. You have never heard of people dying from overdosing or dying from a disease.  It is not physically addictive because it does not make you withdraw. Mentally it can be but so lots of things. I believe that it would help our economy and crime rate. All these fake sites that say it has upped crime rates in colorado and Washington are liers.  People should stop being so naive.

Yes they should. I don't know how it is in Washington but since they've legalized it in Colorado our population has increased dramatically and most of these pot heads never even looked into the cost of living here or for jobs. Is wasn't cheap to live here before the legalization and now cost of living has gone up because of the higher demand in places to live.

Cigarettes and alcohol are more dangerous. And marijuana is less addictive than both. But inhaling any kind of smoke (cigs, marijuana, campfire, incense, etc) is bad for your lungs in my opinion.

​Tax benefits would be enormous, like they are for alcohol and cigarettes. Drug quality and purity might increase where they are problematic, but I don't think this is true where I live (Vancouver) since as I understand it, "BC bud" is legendary for its potency and purity. Is purity a problem in other places?

​I have no interest in smoking marijuana. I could see myself eating it to try that out, but even that doesn't really interest me because I don't like the way my friends react to marijuana (insisting they're extremely "deep" thinkers and creative when high, when in fact they are expressing no interesting or original thoughts).

I think that it should be legalized.  Honestly, it is no worse than alcohol. There should be a legal age limit on who can buy, just like alcohol, and specific places where you can smoke it. You get a ticket for being drunk and disorderly in public, and you should get one as wwell for being stoned. But it should be legal. It is nonsense that alcohol is legal and weed is not
