Crazy ex

My ex boyfriend grabbed me last night while I was in his house, yanked my phone away from me and smashed it and then pushed me out of the door and slammed it. He finally gave it back but is now refusing to replace it or get it repaired because I was "on his property so he can do whatever he wants." I know it's just a phone but I feel like he needs to pay for it.
