tea tree oil

so i read something about tea tree oil being good for your hair so i bought a cheap little bottle at a dollar store to try it out. my hair was so damaged due to me dying it evrey color in the rainbow blow drying curling just alot of reasons your hair dies and i didnt want it damaged anymore so ive tried pantene treatments and so more products i stopped using gel and started using coconut oil and other shea cremes for my curly hair any other suggetions or tips on whats nest to use for damaged hair and how to get it healthy again i dont want to take pills..
