HI, wondering if there is anyone else going through this or something similar? I'm 27 weeks and have to go for additional testing because 2 US have shown a significant "shadow" or "dark spot" on my baby's hard palate. They think my baby might be born with a cleft palate (not lip though).

I'm trying to educate myself as much as I can so we can be prepared for the challenges and surgery once baby arrives, and I know this is not the worst condition my baby could have been dealt, but I'm finding it very hard to come to terms with it. I just feel so sad my little one may have to face challenges right from the start, and the idea of surgery on such a small being is terrifying and sad.

Anyone with advice or have been through something similar who can relate?
