Wedding is postponed
Okay so this is just to vent a little. Okay so my boyfriend proposed about two weeks ago and I told my mom as soon as it happened and she offered to help pay for something in the wedding then she added that the whole family would be helping out. I was more than excited as my fiancé and I don't really have money for a big wedding. Alright now fast forward to this weekend and I'm talking to my mom about starting to plan the wedding and she says I need to go talk to the church and seeing as neither me or my boyfriend are Catholic we didn't think it'd be right to get married at the church instead just holding a small ceremony. There's also some things the Catholic Church requires you to have like being baptized, having the first communion, and the conformation. (Sorry if I have those wrong I say them in Spanish and I'm not sure if I translated it right) Growing up in a Catholic household I only have two of those while my boyfriend, who was raised as Christian, doesn't have any. So she starts saying that if we don't get married by the church then she or my relatives won't help for the wedding anymore. At this point I'm just devestated as we already had things picked out and now we won't be able to have our wedding. My fiancé says that if they're not willing to help just because we aren't getting married by the church then we don't need their help and I agree but I'm also pretty disappointed as we already had things picked out like the venue, photographer, theme I got a bit excited. Anyway this is just me ranting thanks for reading and I'm sorry it was so long.
