What do I do?

My entire family dislikes my boyfriend I don't know why, every time I'm at a family thing without him all they do is talk bad about him to me. It's making me want to stop going to family things altogether. My boyfriend slipped and said he got a ring, and is just waiting for the perfect time. I don't know what to do about my family. I love my boyfriend more than anything.

Do what you think is the right thing you will have to live with your decision. I understand that your family is concerned but at the end of the day it's you that have to live with the choice you made :-)

My family is the same exact way with my boyfriend. Since the beginning of our relationship (it's been a year) they have ALWAYS talked bad about him. And he's been nothing but nice and polite, I mean yes he's made mistakes (nothing huge) but we're all human. Whenever I'm at family things they try to talk bad about him but I seriously don't allow it. Stick up for him, and say if you want to talk bad about him I will happily leave. Nobody needs to hear bad things about there boyfriend, especially if your feelings are real. Stand up for him and yourself! ☺️

It is your life. Do what makes you happy. Not knowing why they don't like can be frusterating but have you asked them why they don't like him. My mom doesn't like my bf, and she has told me why, but it's bs, but I'm still with him and love him and he hasn't met any of my family yet and we been knowing one another for 3 in a half years

I'm on the fence with this one i want to ask Why do they dislike him.  My family hated my sons bio father because he was mentally abusive and honestly i was too young and stupid to notice.  He finally turned to physical abuse knocked me up and left if not for my family my life and my sons life would of been a LOT harder.  So i wonder why it is they dislike him.  Has he done something to merit this dislike?
Cheated, hurt you, been disrespectful, had a bad attitude or tried to drive a wedge between you and your family? Mine did.  If not and they just don't like his looks, where he is from, etc then no it isn't right and you need to stand up for him.  He may even need to confront it at some point if you are planning to marry.

Why don't they like him? Are they seeing red flags and just wanting the best for you? If their reasoning is legit and they want the best for you, consider what they are saying and go from there.

As long as you love him and your happy with him..thats all that matters..who cares about them not liking him..its sad but at the sametime if you cant change thier mind and make them see hes a great guy than just forget it. But they will come around. 
The same thing happened too me a few years back..certain ppl in my family just did not like my partner,they would make little remarks and assumed alot... but eventually they started too like him. 
 
Gl i hope they do come around and start liking him.

If it feels right in your heart, and he makes you happy- then that's all that matters. I went through the same thing, and still occasionally hear it from my parents, but all in all I stay away from my family because of the negativity towards my fiancé. 
Yes- we are engaged finally! Things are perfect. So if you're not being hurt in any way. Ever. 
Then you should just ignore them :) good luck sweetie, and I'm sorry you have to go through that!
