Want to try mucinex this month...HELP!

Bre • 28 TTC for #2 with my best friend and love of my life.
I'm on my 4th month TTC. I keep seeing things about mucinex. How and when do I start the mucinex tablets? I'm on cycle day 2???? Please help. Also what is it supposed to do?
