Is it alright to not gain weight while pregnant if you are already 50 pounds over weight?

I'm curious. I've been working at losing weight but also have been ttcing and if it happens within the next few months, I'd like not to gain weight. I mean if I have, I have to. It's for the babies health of course. :)

My best friend lost weight throughout her entire pregnancy. She gave birth to a healthy 8lb boy.

If you are actively trying to stay healthy during a pregnancy, it's very possible that youll maintain/lose weight over the 9 months.

With my first baby I started out at 120 , the day I gave birth I weighed in at 210... I didn't eat healthy and didn't do much at all. I regret it. Took me 3 yrs to lose the weight and get back down to 130... Still not my pre pregnancy weight, however I am now 30 weeks with my second baby and in the first 18 weeks I lost 13 lbs and so far I've managed to gain 30 😑... I walk "a lot" a mile everyday in the morning. I watch what I eat to an extent (I am not starving myself) I do indulge in my weekly cheats on Sunday's with what I crave (something sweet 😍) and aside from that I try to do some very light weight(10-15lb Dumbbells) exersices for my arms and body weight squats for my behind... Haven't lost weight though 😂

You'll most likely find that if you eat healthy, maintain portion control, get the right portion of protein and carbs, and eat a healthy amount of calories, you'll lose weight. Consult your doctor about how many grams of protein, fat, and carbs you should be eating and how many calories per day. Then track with a phone app! :) best wishez

I'm overweight and have only gained 4.5lbs so far and I'm almost 25 weeks, as long as your doing it in a healthy way there's no harm.

I barely gained weight and I was 100 lbs over weight. I did develope GD because of weight. Baby was healthy.  Dr said the worst thing I could do was gain weight.
