Looking for opinions of people who have a step-dad or children have a step dad, possibly of a different color
My daughters birth father has not been involved in her life over the last 7 years. (Shes7) randomly back in August he got a hold.of me on Facebook and asked to meet her, or he would sign over his rights of that's what I wanted. We had talked about my current husband adopting her but had no way to get into contact with birthdad. I let her meet him, she was curious then he disappeared again December and aging only see her once more. I asked him in january to sign over his rights do my husband could adopt her, he got all pissed off stating he had bonded with her and he was her rightful father.
After a day he agreed and we started on the process. When I dropped off the papers to terminate his rights he went off stating if I don't give him everything he wants he wouldn't sign them, and my husband isn't her father and he never could be. The main reason he said is because my husband is white, my daughter is half black. Does anyone think there's any truth to this.
Also growing up did you have a birth father that you never saw, and did you recognize your step dad as your reply father because he was there for you
