What is your job? Do you like it? And what did it take to get it?

Ladies, I've been feeling discouraged about my profession because I can't find a job with my degree and I don't know if there is anything else I would want to do. I want to hear what you do for a living and if you enjoy it and what did it take to get it, hard work or not I want to know!

I'm an interpreter for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and on occasion the Deaf-blind. It took 4 years of school and countless hour of practice. I had to take several tests to become nationally certified. That's the short version. It's a hard profession to get into but I have loved every minute of it.

I'm a stripper!  LOl, jk.  I just wanted to throw it out there because I was curious if anyone on this app is because I've thought seriously about it . I was a nurse for 2 years. Currently not working and don't feel like being in the medical field anymore.

I'm an accountant. I went to college straight out of high school and graduated 4 years later with an accounting degree. 6 months before I graduated I got an internship at an accounting firm and they hired me full time after I graduated. I've been here for over a year now. I love it, the people are great, and they treat their employees right. This is not true for every accounting firm though, and is in fact rare. I am almost 3 months pregnant and am going to see if I can work out a part-time work from home schedule with my work, because my fiancé works full time. If that doesn't work out, I will have to leave because the hours and responsibility of this job are very demanding.

I am a service desk analyst, I work for a government agency that offers support to areas of poverty and disaster relief.

I love knowing that the people I help are making a huge difference in the world. 
The job itself isn't great all the time, but I like it.

I have stable hours, health insurance, pto, and a 401k.

I knew someone who already works here and he gave me a reference. 
I'm currently working on getting some certifications so that I can get a higher position within the company.

I'm going to school for nursing. I've had the passion, I'm just terrified of failing. I was a barista for 8 years and I don't miss it. It's stressful and you wouldn't believe the amazing amount of entitled people who think you're an idiot.

I'm a housekeeper at a hotel. Just so I can have a flexible schedule and get my degree, but still have an income. I'm going for forensic anthropology.

Housekeeping isn't you bad. It's just alot harder than people think-me included. I love working in the hotel though. I'm going to see if they'll let me do front desk too, since that's originally what I applied for.

I am self employed and I absolutely love it!!! I was working as a nail tech but quit to stay home with my little one

Although, I graduate with a degree in nursing I currently work for Verizon Wireless full time. I work 9AM-6PM, make hourly and commission and receive full benefits.

I knew the hiring manager from a previous job I held while in college, so the hiring process was fairly simple..

I'm in marketing. It's a huge field and I've had the opportunity to dabble around. I'm great with math and logic, so I've found I really love data science!

Basically being a coder, a detective, a psychologist, a designer, and a statistician all in one. I work for an online retail company. I LOVE it.

I love my job. But it's not an industry most women would choose and Ive basically been training for it my entire life.

If you have the opportunity to stay in the field your in but change companies you may be way way way happier....I did that and am so glad I did
