How many baby showers is acceptable?

Personally I only find one practical. I probably wouldn't have or attend a second. There are other ways to celebrate without gifts.

I'll have a second one depending on how many years apart and who is invited. Only my family and literally one friend came to this one so if my second baby is in 10 years then I'll have another shower. Either way I'll have a party and just specifically say that gifts aren't necessary

Well I have no babies but I can tell u with certainty that the family wouldn't let me NOT have a shower. Even if it was my 5th lol

Even if I had another boy, I wouldn't necessarily have a baby shower. But more along a gender reveal party. And guest are welcome to bring diapers, or neutral clothing. And what ever they feel appropriate. But honestly, I don't have but a few good friends so it would be all family who would attend. And they'd be buying stuff to spoil the kid regardless

I think the correct etiquette is one for your first for sure. And then it depends on how many years are in between the children and if it is a different gender than the first. My first two children are not even two years apart I had one for the first but not for the second they are also both girls had my second been a boy I might have considered another shower. I am currently trying to conceive and regardless of boy or girl I will have a baby shower as it has already been 8 years since my last and I no longer have any baby stuff.

For your first but in my area my inlaws might throw one and my family they live about an hour and a half apart. I think it's fine to have multiple as long as it's someone throwing it for you and anyone invited knows to only bring a gift to one if they choose to attend more than one.

I'm def having one but will probably have two.  My husband and I live close to his family.  5 hours north is all my friends ands family so I won't object of they want to throw me one too.

We had 2 for our first. We had family 2000 miles away and we needed one with each family.

This baby won't get one because no one will come. I tried to have a low-key BBQ but I can't seem to work it around everyone's schedules. It makes me sad but it is what it is.
