A little help please...

My period was due yesterday(saturday)but it never showed...on friday I took a hpt and I swear I can see the world's faintest positive but im also thinking that if I am indeed pregnant shouldnt the test be darker as I am only a day away from my period?or perhaps im seeing what I want to see and not necessarily what's actually there
